Can I get the birth certificate in Indian embassy?

  

Ans :  

Yes, birth certificate is issued on the basis of the passport. Processing time - 2 working days. Please bring along original passport and Identity card for verification and requisite fee.

What is the procedure to apply for Marriage Certificate?

  

Ans :  

Applicant has to submit both the passport of husband and wife, proof of their marriage like wedding card or Marriage Certificate/Affidavit and requisite fee. Processing time - 2 working days. Both applicants must be in Singapore to apply for Marriage Certificate/Affidavit.

What is the procedure to apply for Police clearance certificate?

  

Ans :  

The documents required are original passport , 2 photos and requisite fee. Processing time – 3 working days.

Can the documents be attested/notarized at IHC?

  

Ans :  

Yes, Attestation of all documents can be done in case the original document is produced and approved by the consular officer. The applicant has to submit the original with copy of the document to be attested. Processing time – 2 working days.

Spouse is applying for passport of the kid in India, and RPO is asking for verification of passport, how to go about it? i.e. affidavit.

  

Ans :  

The applicant has to come in person with original passport  and identity card and submit 2 copies of the affidavit forms and requisite fee. Processing time - 2 working days.

What is the procedure for bringing maid to Singapore?

  

Ans :  

If the maid employed is an Indian national then all employment contracts are to be attested. The documents required are employment contract, in-principle approval letter, and approval from MOM for Bank guarantee, photocopy of maid’s passport and requisite fee. Processing time - 2 working days. The employer has to come in person for the application and all copies must be submitted in duplicate.

What are the requirements for giving Power of Attorney?

  

Ans :  

For power of attorney the applicant has to come in person with original document, passport, identity card and requisite fee. Applicant should sign the Power of Attorney in presence of the Consular Officer. If company or a foreign passport holder gives Power of Attorney or if it is for land in Punjab then it should be notarized. Processing time - 2 working days. The photographs must be affixed on PA and two copies of PoA must be submitted.

Does the person giving power of attorney require to come in person and sign in front of the consular officer?

  

Ans :  

Yes. The person giving the PoA must come in person and sign in front of the consular officer. If the person is not able to come to High Commission then he has to get his signatures notarized through notary public. The photograph must be affixed and must submit original as well as a copy of PoA.

Can the spouse apply for Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate if the applicant is not in Singapore?

  

Ans :  

No, the applicant has to be in Singapore to apply for Birth certificate or Marriage Certificate.
