MEASURES INTRODUCED BY THE MISSION TO IMPROVE THE CONSULAR SERVICES

With a view to rendering expeditious passport and visa services, it has been decided to outsource passport collection with effect from 22nd January 2009. Visa collection, which has been outsourced since September 2007, has been expanded further w.e.f. 22nd January 2009 by adding three more collection centers. Now passport and visa applications can be submitted at any one of the following approved collection centers :

Visa Services

i) Mustafa Air Travel Pte Ltd
ii) Serangoon Air Travel Pte Ltd
iii) Quoppro Global Services Pte Ltd
iv) Network Express Courier Services Pte Ltd
v) Muhibbah Travels Tours & Trading Pte Ltd

Passport Services

i) Quoprro Global Services Pte Ltd
ii) Mustafa Air Travel Pte Ltd

Indian passports are being issued in 5 working days to avoid inconvenience and delay of travel to Indian expatriates in Singapore. Machine-readable passports and visas having barcode are being issued to facilitate travel of applicants. Jumbo Passports are being issued to avoid inconvenience to Indians working in Singapore

Visas are being granted within two working days to Singaporeans. Arrangement has been made to grant business visas to Singaporeans on the same day w.e.f. December 18, 2007.

PIO and OCI applications are being processed expeditiously and separate counters have been opened for these services.

All other consular documents are being processed and delivered by the next working day.

A digital photo machine has been installed in the Mission to cater to the demand of applicants to get instant photographs for various consular services.
