          Such miscellaneous services include issuing police clearance certificates, requests for intervention in matters involving the police authorities in India , consular attestation of documents, including power of attorney, employment contract, educational certificates etc., issuing birth certificates, sponsorship declaration, affidavits, NRI letter, driving license confirmation letter and so on. For miscellaneous service the applicant has to fill in Miscellaneous Service form and Sticker Form (Index form) with required photographs along with documents mentioned hereunder for each service.

Police Clearance Certificates (PCC)

• This is a document issued by the High Commission certifying that you have never come in adverse notice of the Indian police, and is normally required when you apply for emigration status to countries such as the US or Canada (Click for details regarding application forms, fees etc.)

• Applicant may bring the following while applying for police clearance certificate:

• The applicant has to come in person with one coloured photograph, Original Passport and application form(Misc)

• Requisition letter from concerned Embassy for migration visa

• For applicants requiring PCC for employment visa, they are required to bring a letter of invitation or appointment letter.

          While the High Commission cannot interfere in any police proceedings affecting you or your relatives in India, we can, in certain cases (especially where there is a threat to life over property or other disputes) request the relevant police authorities to expedite necessary action. If you would like us to do so at any time, please send us your request, giving us the following information

• all the details of the case

• the address of the police station where the case is registered, and if possible the name, telephone and fax numbers of the District Superintendent of Police

• the number of the FIR (First Information Report), the date on which the FIR was filed, and the name and rank of the investigating officer, and

• the reason why you require our intervention

          Please note that while the High Commission will endeavor to follow up these cases, the entire onus of acting on the complaint lies with the local police authorities.

Attestation of Documents

          Documents which need attestation by the Indian High Commission include powers of attorney, education certificates, birth certificates etc. (Click here to find out the attestation charges).

In each case, please ensure that you bring with you,

• Miscellaneous Consular services application form, duly filled in

• The original document which is to be attested

• A copy of the same document for our records

• Photocopy of your NRIC Card along with the original for verification

• Photocopy of the first page of your passport, if you are an Indian national, along with the original for verification

• Applicants requiring attestation on foreign documents such as Singapore passport, NRIC etc will need to get documents notarized and submit documents along with photocopies (For Individuals)

• The documents have to be attested by the following authorities before bringing them to the embassy (For Companies)

     • 2 colored photos and Original and photocopy of Power of Attorney
     • Applicant has to come in person

  2. Singaporeans and foreign nationals
     • Get Power of Attorney notarized by a notary public along with photo affixed
     • Bring NRIC or passport along with a copy
  
  
• An English translation of the document if it is in any other language other than English - we regret that the High Commission does not offer any translation services. The applicants can get their documents translated with other recognized translators or any gazetted organizations like SINDA, Commissioner of Oaths, Gujarathi Society etc. Please bring Original and copy for attestation of the translated document.

Birth Certificate/ Registration of Birth

          To obtain a birth certificate (Click here for the relevant fee) you would need the following documents:

• Birth Certificate application form, duly filled in

• Passport in original along with photocopy of the first page and last page.

• NRIC in original along with a photocopy

• Applicant has to come in person for application

• The High Commission, when issuing a birth certificate to children born in Singapore of Indian parents, will also register the birth of the child.

Marriage Certificate

          To obtain a marriage certificate (Click here for the relevant fee) you would need the following documents:

• Marriage Certificate application form duly filled up

• Passports of both the spouses and photocopies of the same

• Documentary evidence of marriage like Wedding Card, Affidavit from Notary public or any gazatted officer in India

• Applicants have to come in person to apply for Marriage certificate

• Before applying for marriage certificate the spouse name is to be included in the passport

Affidavit

          To obtain a Affidavit to apply for a passport for child in India you would need the following documents:

• Affidavit forms duly filled up in duplicate

• Original Passport and Identity card of Applicant

• Copy of Birth certificate of the child

• Applicant have to come in person

Sponsorship Declaration or No Objection Certificate

          To obtain a Sponsorship Declaration (Click here to find out what it costs) would-be sponsors must come in person to the High Commission with the following documents:

• Two sets of the sponsorship application forms duly filled in (available at the Reception Counter or the website of the Indian High Commission).

• Photocopy of the NRIC Card along with the original for comparison.

• Photocopy of your Indian Passport along with the original for comparison.

• Documentation to prove good financial standing, such as a salary slip, bank statement or a salary certificate issued by the personnel branch of the sponsor's company.

Driving License Confirmation letter

          To obtain a Driving License Confirmation Letter (Click here for the relevant fee) you would need the following documents:

• Requisition letter from driving centre/pink form endorsed by Land Transport Authority(LTA)

• Passport and license original(both International and Indian) and photocopies of the same

• Applicant has to come in person for submitting application

• Applicants may use birth certificate form to apply for confirmation letter which will be issued after scrutiny of the license.

         To obtain a NRI Letter (Click here for the relevant fee) you would need the following documents:

• Applicants have to bring employers letter mentioning period of stay in Singapore(Issued not less than 6 months) or Singapore Blue NRIC

• Original passport for the evidence of FIRST ENTRY into Singapore

• Applicants need to have resided in Singapore for more than 6 months to obtain NRI status
