Such miscellaneous services include issuing police clearance certificates, requests for intervention in matters involving the police authorities in India , consular attestation of documents, including power of attorney, employment contract, educational certificates etc., issuing birth certificates, sponsorship declaration, affidavits, NRI letter, driving license confirmation letter and so on.
For miscellaneous service the applicant has to fill in Miscellaneous Service form and Sticker Form (Index form) with required photographs along with documents mentioned hereunder for each service.
Police Clearance Certificates (PCC)

This is a document issued by the High Commission certifying that you have never come in adverse notice of the Indian police, and is normally required when you apply for emigration status to countries such as the US or Canada

Applicant may bring the following while applying for police clearance certificate:

The applicant has to come in person with one coloured photograph, Original Passport and application form(Misc)

Requisition letter from concerned Embassy for migration visa

For applicants requiring PCC for employment visa, they are required to bring a letter of invitation or appointment letter.

Requests for intervention in police matters
While the High Commission cannot interfere in any police proceedings affecting you or your relatives in India, we can, in certain cases (especially where there is a threat to life over property or other disputes) request the relevant police authorities to expedite necessary action. If you would like us to do so at any time, please send us your request, giving us the following information

all the details of the case
-
the address of the police station where the case is registered, and if possible the name, telephone and fax numbers of the District Superintendent of Police

the number of the FIR (First Information Report), the date on which the FIR was filed, and the name and rank of the investigating officer, and
-
the reason why you require our intervention
Please note that while the High Commission will endeavor to follow up these cases, the entire onus of acting on the complaint lies with the local police authorities.

Attestation of Documents
Documents which need attestation by the Indian High Commission include powers of attorney, education certificates, birth certificates etc.

- Get Power of Attorney notarized by a notary public along with photo affixed
- Bring NRIC or passport along with a copy
- An English translation of the document if it is in any other language other than English - we regret that the High Commission does not offer any translation services. The applicants can get their documents translated with other recognized translators or any gazetted organizations like SINDA, Commissioner of Oaths, Gujarathi Society etc. Please bring Original and copy for attestation of the translated document.

Birth Certificate/ Registration of Birth
To obtain a birth certificate

Two sets of the sponsorship application forms duly filled in (available at the Reception Counter or the website of the Indian High Commission).

Photocopy of the NRIC Card along with the original for comparison.

Photocopy of your Indian Passport along with the original for comparison.

Documentation to prove good financial standing, such as a salary slip, bank statement or a salary certificate issued by the personnel branch of the sponsor's company.

Requisition letter from driving centre/pink form endorsed by Land Transport Authority(LTA)
