This High Commission gives passport services for all Indian citizens resident in Singapore. This office has the discretion to insist on detailed verification from India before rendering any passport service, as also the discretion to refuse any service if foul play is suspected, especially in the case of lost or damaged passports for which replacement passports are needed. New passports are issued to replace a lost or damaged passport only after we are satisfied as to the identity of the applicant as an Indian national

Passports are renewed within 5-7 working days from the submission of the application

Fees vary - please check the fee schedule. The passport application form, duly filled in and signed by the applicant, should be submitted by the applicant personally together with the Indian Passport, three coloured photographs, a copy of Singapore NRIC (Original to be produced for verification) and the relevant passport fee.

A copy of the police report should also be submitted in case one is applying for a replacement passport in lieu of a passport that has been lost or damaged.

Tourists who have lost or damaged their passports could be considered for an emergency certificate (EC) which is cheaper than a replacement passport. An EC is a one-way travel document valid only for one return trip back to India, which is issued to Indians stranded overseas without a passport, after the High Commission is satisfied as to their Indian nationality. Once back in India, the applicant can approach the office which had issued the original passport for issuing a duplicate passport on production of the EC.

As and when an Indian national obtains a foreign nationality, he/she is not entitled to retain his/her Indian Passport and has to surrender his/her passport to this Mission for cancellation at the time of acquiring another nationality.
